The NUCES-FAST University Islamabad Campus, pioneered and specialized organization of computer science, has organized workshop of Database System for Academic and IT Industry. Database System is one of the applied core course being offered in all universities. Highly qualified students are highly demanded in IT and corporate industry in current era of data and knowledge. This course has a blend of components in which concepts and core understandings are the major concerns of instructors. Components are basic database concepts, programming using SQL, Design, Implementations, database administration and emerging trends. Mostly Instructors teach this course based on their weak understanding from academic, internet and book-reading backgrounds. Concepts have certain meanings but interpreted in an inappropriate, miss-leading and weak ways. This understanding is not normally sufficient, appealing and rich for students of instructors because mostly database books are written by academic writers who do not have sufficient industrial experience. Also material/ contents from internet such as online lectures of YouTube are uploaded by instructors with weaker concepts and inappropriate meanings. Such online lectures are not appropriate and creating confusions with different concepts of the understanding for viewers such as instructors, IT professional and students. On the other side course syllabus with well-defined contents and lab material is also matter for student's best learning. IT industry inside Pakistan and abroad is looking for well qualified IT graduates who have strong concepts, programming and hands on learning of Database System. If we teach with well-defined and rich contents of course to teachers, then they will pass on their knowledge to their students. Such students will fulfill the demand of market more effectively. In the current era some emerging trends such as Big Data, BI/ Data Warehousing and Machine Learning are also bundled with the contents of this workshop.

Who should attend this workshop?

Participants of workshop will be IT software engineers, teaching staff, lecturers, assistant professor, teaching assistants, senior students, individuals and lab instructors from other universities and organization. Qualified participants of this workshop will teach their students with enhanced blend of academic and industrial knowledge.
