Dr. Asif Gondal selected as the Best Teacher for the Year 2012

Dr. Asif Gondal has been awarded for the HEC's prestigious 'Best University Teachers Award for the year 2012'. The award consists of a Certificate and cash prize of Rs. 100,000/- The evaluation for the Best University Teacher was finalized by the Awards Committee keeping in view the qualification, teaching, research and Co-curricular activities of the nominee.
Dr. Asif has become the first faculty member from NUCES who has been conferred with this honor. Excellence in academics has been a hallmark of Dr. Asif. He was also declared amongst the most productive scientist of Pakistan, by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences. In years 2011 and 2012, he has to his credit the highest number of ISI indexed publications, 18 and 16 respectively in the university. Dr. Gondal has a reputation of a prolific and active researcher. His name is also included in the list of most productive scientists issued by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology. He was one of the authors of the OSP teachers and students’ manuals.
Besides his achievements in academics, he has been heading two very important committees at Islamabad campus, the Campus Faculty/Staff Selection Committee and the Financial Aid Committee. His work in both the committees has been exceptional. Dr. Asif Gondal, head, School of Sciences & Humanities at FAST National University, is a PhD in applied Mathematics. His PhD work titled as ‘Exponential Interators for Mathematical Problems in Finance’, carried out under the famous Professor Dr. Alexander Ostermann of the University of Innsbruck, Austria. With his one and a half decade experience of teaching and research at prestigious universities like National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and FAST. His areas of interest include applied mathematics, numerical analysis, numerical methods (exponential integrators) and financial mathematics.
