An International workshop on field and assistive robotics was held on Oct 17-18, 2014 at FAST-NU Faculty of Computer Science in Lahore. The main focus was to initiate new and exciting areas of research in field and off-road robotics.
Electrical Engineering students from FAST-NU Lahore campus succeeded in the SOFTEC 2014 competition with distinction. In their Final year Projects (FYPs) a team comprising Mr. Shehwar Hussain, Mr.Usama Nisar, Mr. Anas Imtiaz, Mr. Haseeb Khalid, Mr. Waleed Usman and Mr. Mujtaba Ali received first prize in Engineering Project Competition.
Idyllic Youth Society (IYS) at FAST-NU Lahore campus recently organized a seminar on the topic “Explore Pakistan” and the importance of March 23. Mr. Orya Maqbool Jan, senior analyst, and Dr. Rafique Ahmed, Vice Chairman Nazarya Pakistan Trust and Member Board of Governors FAST-NU, were the guests of honor. Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Director Lahore campus, gave the vote of thanks.
The FAST association of Civil Engineers (FACE) Lahore campus arranged a three days educational trip to Neelum Jehlum Hydel Power Project (NJHPP) and Naluchi Bridge in Muzaffarabad from February 5 to 7.
Computer Sciences Department at Lahore campus successfully conducted the first hands-on ethical hacking and penetration testing workshop. Dr. Bushra Anjum, Assistant Professor CS, invited InfoSec Consultant, Ethical Hacker & Pen Tester Trainer for CISSP, CISA, CISM and ISO 27001 Mr. Farooq Khan for conducting the workshop.
With the aim of increasing international exposure for local students, Dr. Bushra Anjum, Assistant Professor CS Department, invited Barry Pierce (Mulkey Inc, Elim-IT) from USA to visit Pakistan for an educational guest lecture series. Barry has worked in the technology services industry for over 25 years and is a unique mix of businessman, techie, theoretician, and practitioner. He has served every size client: one-person micro-businesses, small businesses, mid-sized companies and multinational corporations.
